Gov. Corbett Orders all US and Pa. Flags to Fly at Half-staff to Honor Fallen Firefighters 

Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all United States and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities across the state to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, Oct. 12, in tribute to fallen firefighters.

President Barack Obama has ordered the American flag to be flown at half-staff on Sunday, Oct. 12, in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

The United States and Pennsylvania flags should be flown at full-staff on Monday.

Governor Tom Corbett joined Panda Power Funds to break ground on an 829-megawatt natural-gas fueled power plant in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania that will power up to 1 million homes and contribute an estimated $5.85 billion to the local economy within the first 10 years of operation.  The plant, deliberately sited in the heart of the Marcellus Shale, is expected to create 500 construction jobs, 27 permanent positions, and 45 indirect jobs in the local community.

PA is First to Receive National Awards in All Categories for Human Resource Management

Governor Corbett announced today that Pennsylvania’s Office of Administration has received national awards in all three categories for leadership, innovation and communication in state human resource management.
