Quinn's Committee Assignments for 2015-16 Legislative Session

Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks) has been assigned to serve on four standing House committees during the 2015-16 legislative session. Quinn’s assignments include the Appropriations, Insurance, Professional Licensure and Transportation committees. Appointment to the Appropriations Committee marks Quinn’s first assignment on this committee, and represents the only Republican House member from Bucks County on Appropriations.

“I look forward to serving as a member of the Appropriations Committee as all bills with a fiscal impact will come before this committee,” said Quinn. “In the upcoming weeks, the committee will begin its annual series of hearings for the 2015-16 state budget. The committee will be charged with crafting a spending plan that will balance our citizens’ need for services with fiscal reality.”

The state House Insurance Committee vets legislation regulating issues pertaining to all types of insurance including homeowners, life, health, automobile and personal and commercial lines. A member of this committee for the past eight years, Quinn also serves on the executive board of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).

The House Professional Licensure Committee reviews legislation that establishes rules governing the licenses required to engage in all licensed professions in the Commonwealth.

The House Transportation Committee deals with legislation regarding the Vehicle Code, Transportation Code, rail issues and other transportation issues. Quinn has been appointed to chair the Subcommittee on Mass Transit.
