Quinn Announces Free Tax Filing Assistance for Seniors

Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks) today informed local residents that the AARP Tax Aide program will again offer free assistance to seniors in filing their federal, state and local tax returns beginning Monday, Feb. 1, and running through Friday, April 15. The program will be conducted at the Central Bucks Senior Center, located at 700 N. Shady Retreat Road in Doylestown.

“With many seniors living on fixed incomes, it is very important that their taxes are filed accurately to maximize their refunds,” Quinn said. “With the help of professionals, seniors will get the correct amount of money they are owed.”

For more than 20 years, the AARP Tax Aide program has served low to middle-income taxpayers with special attention to those age 60 and older. Computer-based tax return preparation assistance and e-filing of returns will also be provided at no charge.

Residents need to schedule an appointment by calling Quinn’s district office in Doylestown at (215) 489-2126. Don’t wait to schedule an appointment; this service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Funded by an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) grant, this effort is part of the IRS-sponsored Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program. It is administered through the AARP Foundation. Locally, it is endorsed by the Area Agency on Aging.
